John Burroughs is a retired United States Air Force Technical Sergeant and one of the key firsthand witnesses to the now-infamous Rendlesham Forest Incident of December 1980—often referred to as “Britain’s Roswell.” While serving as a security police officer at RAF Woodbridge, Burroughs was among the first responders to a series of unexplained aerial events near Capel Green, events that would go on to spark decades of speculation, investigation, and government silence.
Over the course of more than 40 years, Burroughs has worked tirelessly to uncover the truth behind what happened in the forest—both for himself and for others affected by high-strangeness encounters. His persistent efforts led to the first-ever Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) ruling granting medical treatment for injuries sustained during a UAP encounter, a landmark moment in the acknowledgment of physical effects tied to unexplained phenomena.
Burroughs has collaborated with researchers, journalists, physicists, and lawmakers, contributing to the declassification of key documents and the exposure of gaps in governmental accountability surrounding UAP events. He is co-author of Encounter in Rendlesham Forest, and continues to lead projects that bridge national security, advanced aerospace research, and human testimony.
His ongoing work includes a multi-volume book and documentary series exploring the weaponization of anomalous technologies, the legacy of Cold War experimentation, and the convergence of science fiction and reality in understanding the phenomenon.
