N. MacDonnell “Don” Ulsch

CEO and Chief Analyst at Phylax Analytics, N. MacDonnell “Don” Ulsch is one of those rare cybersecurity experts.  He understands not only the technical issues involved in dealing with all manner of cyber threats and risks, but he also has an extraordinarily profound and visionary understanding of the face and future of cyber threats.

Don is an internationally recognized executive, speaker, lecturer, cybersecurity analyst, author, and advisor to executive management in industry and government. He’s worked with defense, intelligence, and investigative agencies on technology issues.

He is a Guest Lecturer on Cyber Warfare at the US Military Academy at West Point, a Research Fellow, Cybersecurity at Woods College of Advancing Studies at Boston College, and a Distinguished Fellow of the Ponemon Institute.

He was CEO of MacDonnell Ulsch Cyber Advisory LLC; the Global Cyber Threat advisor to the CIA from 2012 to 2014; the Trusted Advisor to the US Senate Commission on Protecting and Reducing Government Secrets; Representative to the Department of US Treasury’s Cybersecurity Task Force on Critical Infrastructure; and has advised the US Naval Research Laboratory, Department of Homeland Security, and US Air Force regarding cybersecurity threat analysis involving AI and Machine Learning; and was nominated as the Department of Homeland Security’s liaison to the CIA.

He was the Senior Managing Director of Cybercrime for Price Waterhouse Coopers. He led cybercrime investigations in approximately 70 countries and was Vice President of Information Security for Dun & Bradstreet.

He was also CEO of ZeroPoint Risk Research. He led client cyber-breach forensic engagements in financial services, technology, and the national defense contractor community involving foreign and domestic actors engaged in money laundering, nation-state attacks, fake identities, personal data, intellectual property, and proprietary business data compromise.

He has written numerous articles, papers, and two books: Cyber Threat: How to Manage the Growing Risk of Cyber Attacks and Threat: Managing Risk in a Hostile World.

Jennifer Gold

Jennifer Gold has over 20 years of experience in senior technology positions for the financial sector. She is currently vice president of Engineering at a global investment management firm and the IT Sector Chief and a Director on the Board of InfraGard’s New York Metro Chapter supporting the FBI’s public-private partnership. She is a Cyber Subcommittee member to the Area Maritime Security Committee for the US Coast Guard.

Gold is a trusted strategist and subject matter expert in cybersecurity, risk management, systems engineering & architecture, cloud technologies, incident response, and disaster recovery.

Previously, she was Associate Vice President of Global Technology & Solutions at The Carlyle Group.  Jennifer was responsible for cybersecurity initiatives, global enterprise-wide infrastructure implementations, including introducing new technology and processes – technology refresh and re-design, cloud technology, business continuity, and disaster recovery.

Her other work experience includes 12 years at Citigroup as a Systems Engineer and Architect. There she managed the technology infrastructure for Equities Trading and Citigroup Derivatives Markets, Inc. She also founded Grayce Technology Solutions, Inc., which has provided a range of cybersecurity consulting services to both the public and private sectors.

Gold is also co-founder of UNION Cyber, a non-profit (501c3) organization that provides military and national security talent with cybersecurity training and job opportunities.

She is a member of several organizations, including the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, Armed Forces Communications, and Electronics Association, United States Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force, Association of Former Intelligence Officers, High Technology Crime Investigation Association, and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Jennifer recently received certification from The Global Cyber Institute in partnership with UCLA, and in 2018 was honored with the Women’s History Award by the Greater NY Chamber of Commerce for technology leadership and for creating cybersecurity job opportunities for NYC veterans.

In 2018, she also received an award from the NY State Comptroller for contributions to Veterans Affairs. She was also nominated for the 92Y Emily Rosenthal Extraordinary Women’s Award for exceptional contributions to education and her community.
