This weekday morning’s show lasts as long as our coffee. Celebrated Ufologist Don Ecker and Gerry Kissell host it. The show discusses subjects dealing with science, science fiction, Ufology, cryptids, and the paranormal, as well as having guests from those communities.
Don Ecker & Gerry Kissell
Don Ecker is the Director of Research for UFO Magazine. As a medically retired law enforcement officer, he puts a skeptical and honest eye on UFO and paranormal subjects. Ecker hosted the critically acclaimed radio programs UFOs Tonite! and Strange Daze for six years, interviewing the UFO and paranormal fields’ influential personalities and related areas. Later, along with his close friend, television and film star Dwight Schultz of The A-Team and Star Trek fame, he hosted Dark Matters on the Reality Radio Network.
Don Ecker is a Vietnam Vet and a medically retired law enforcement officer. Ecker enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1969 and was selected for a top-secret agency. After his training, he was posted in Okinawa. In 1971 he was assigned to Vietnam. In April of 1972, Ecker was wounded and honorably discharged after several months of recovering in military hospitals.
Ecker hosted UFOs Tonight and Strange Daze for six years before hosting Dark Matters. He has also appeared on Larry King Live, in numerous documentaries on the History and Discovery channels, and Coast to Coast AM.
While working as a police detective in 1981-1982, he investigated two cattle mutilation cases, eventually leading to his creation of the vampire novel, Past sins.
Gerry served as Combat Medic in the U.S. Army, volunteering during the first Gulf War. He has been a professional illustrator since 1986, starting as an artist for Selling Power Magazine in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and working to this day in the comics publishing industry for books and magazines.
Gerry created and was the lead artist on multiple best-selling graphic novels, including Code Word: Geronimo and Iron Sky for IDW, the One-Million sold Alan Wake video game tie-in comic for Xbox, and cover artist for G.I. Joe. In addition, he has been the Official Artist for Dale Dye’s Warrior Publishing Group since 2006.
Gerry also has worked steadily as an artist in the motion picture industry since 1997. In 2012, Gerry created Dangerous Military Nerds on Facebook about the nerd culture in the Military, and in 2018 he started Pop Culture Minefield on YouTube. This show featured his “partner in crime,” Keith Moncrief. In 2022, Gerry was joined by decorated Military veteran and Ufologist Don Ecker for a weekly UFO series, and in 2023 Don Ecker helped broker a deal to bring all of Gerry’s shows (9), including Dangerous Military Nerds, to KGRA Digital Broadcasting.
