Note From the Editior – September 2024
Back to School
Ah, September… back to school, the beginning of autumn for the Northern Hemisphere, and the month in which, according to the CDC, the most babies are born. Busy month! And it will be a busy month here at KGRA Digital Broadcasting as we add new shows and features to bring even more fantastic content straight to you!
In this issue of the KGRAdb Newsletter, we will be proudly turning the spotlight on three of those amazing shows and their super popular hosts.
In last month’s issue, I shared a story of a real American hero of WWII who is honored for his incredible heroism in 1944 and is celebrated to this day each August 17 by the tiny French village near where he fell. Seeing how the locals speak of our military and how grateful they continue to be is heartwarming. I asked an American friend living in France if he would go by on this year’s anniversary and pay respects to Lt. Paul Swank on my behalf. He did just that, and some of his photos are shared here.
All photo credits and special thanks go to Joe Thompson, Carcassonne, France.
The final 2 lines of this commemorative plaque read in English,” In memory of the brotherhood in arms, French and American”
