Major Crime Wave Hit KGRA Digital Broadcasting

Major Crime Wave Hits KGRA

Real cops. Real crime. The real deal.

True crime ranks in the top 4 most popular genres for radio and podcast content consumers. There are many and varying reasons why the crime genre is so popular. Hardcore fans like to keep on top of each year’s new developments in forensics and technology. Many viewers enjoy the problem-solving aspect of solving crimes. In contrast, others engage with the psychology of the perpetrators, particularly those of violent crimes, for a better understanding of the human mind.

Whatever the reason, Americans (as well as those worldwide) are hooked on true crime. A new YouGov poll shows half of US adults enjoy it, with one in four consuming crime content multiple times a week.

CEO of KGRAdb, Warren Braegger, is a true crime show lover, and with crime fan statistics super high, it was a natural decision to expand our coverage to include the true crime genre on our platform.

So, Warren teamed up with Program Director Bill Skywatcher and Director of Operations Eric Braegger on a search for the hottest crime shows out there. Now, the search is over, and they are bringing you the top three on the list. And who better to get down to the nitty-gritty of true crime than five highly decorated police veterans with decades of crime-solving experience? We say, “No one!”

Detective White is currently assigned to a Tulsa Police Department homicide unit, where he has served for over 14 years. His varied experience includes 16 years of service on TPD’s Special Operations Team as a hostage negotiator.

Ronnie Leatherman was with the Tulsa Police Department as well, where he worked patrol, vice, narcotics, and homicide in his 22 ½ years there. He received multiple honors and medals there for his work excellence.

If either of these gentlemen looks familiar, you may have seen them on TV! As a homicide detective, Leatherman was featured on A&E’s hit show “The First 48.” Likewise, Detective White has been featured in several episodes of the same successful A&E series.

Briefing With the Chief - KGRA Digital Broadcasting

BRIEFING WITH THE CHIEF – Wednesdays 5:00 pm. to 6:00 pm Eastern

Show Hosts Jason White and Ronnie Leatherman

Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Chief (retired) Patrick Jordan utilizes a long-standing practice of daily briefings across police agencies where shift supervisors set priorities, discuss issues of the day, and make policy changes. These are meant to be an open and free forum where troops can freely express themselves, including questioning policies and expressing concerns.

Chief Jordan brings his 38 years of experience to bear to embrace the roll call/briefing spirit and discuss the new, trending topics and Law Enforcement. The show will specifically challenge the anti-law Enforcement narrative.

We would like to welcome these five new star hosts to our team and sincerely thank each of them for their collective years of service. We couldn’t be more proud to be associated with them and their exciting new shows. Get ready as we embark on thrilling adventures in investigating true crimes!
